Sammy's come home as the new No.2 at L.F.C., welcome back!!! DMW has so needed a second in command this past season, since Paco Herrera left for pastures new (Espanyol's sporting director). Lets hope he can take some of the load off the big mans shoulders in the up coming season ahead and help make the difference where it counts!

Euro 08 is almost upon us and with four of our players involved in the Spanish team, I personally will be cheering them on (No Show England) and hoping they all make it through unscathed!!!!!!!!!
On a side note, one of our targets this summer Albert Riera was not picked for the Spanish squad! Strange that, you do the maths?

adidas amigos / 'The Kid' did good!!!!!

First off, congratulations to 'El Nino' for getting his 33rd goal of 07/08 campaign (all competitions) and taking the record for scoring the most goals by a foreigner in his debut season, just outstanding!!! I feel 'The Kid' can only get better, especially if he can put it in the back of the net on the road in the new season ahead! As to the match, the first half was nothing to write home about, that's for sure! But then pops up Voronin to score a goal (69 minute) from a long ball up by Skrtel, then headed on by Torres to the Ukrainian who uncharacteristically controlled the ball well and pops it in the net, one nil then! Just five minutes later our Mr. Number Nine slots it through Cerny's legs to make it two, fair play to Spurs they picked there game up as well and made it a more entertaining second half, with Reina having to make some damn good saves and the woodwork helping out! So we finished on 76 points (the highest amount in DMW time at L.F.C.), end of term report=MUST TRY HARDER NEXT SEASON!!!!!!!!!!

Tararaloo time then, here is the list of names who I think will not be in our red and gold shirts this coming August! Kewell (already gone), Alonso, Crouch, Pennat, Itanje, Voronin, Carson and Finnan. More on my thoughts about these players in the very near future!

Thee End Game!

Well its almost time for the last game of the season, when we take on Spurs at White Hart Lane in the North of London tomorrow afternoon (Kick-Off 15:00 BST), its all just down to pride now, so lets try and go out on a high and kick there proverbial ass! Me I will going out for the match on the morrow with the old head held high, hope in my heart and doing what I do best, shouting a lot!!! Meeting up with chaps at one of my favorite watering holes! Come on you Reds, do us proud! PS- I have cheered up as promised!

The End Is Nigh / No Man's Land!!!!!

So to the end of season game at White Hart Lane and all it stands for, which in our case is only a formality! Or is it? I beg to differ!!! 4th place is ours guaranteed, we can not get any better or any worse, or can we? I hope not, but only time will tell and that's for sure! As I have said before, this summer will be a long and arduous one at that, the new 'so called' stadium has yet again been granted planing permission (need loads of dosh now!). Getting fed up of listening to the same cracked record on this subject, plus the so called ownership conflict will draw to a close by the end of May this year (if were really lucky). So lots to look forward to in the very near future, NOT!!! Having a bad week, will cheer up soon I promise! thyotherside-ron

Pride and Prejudice!

Well the lads came out with the new home strip on yesterday afternoon, looks good if you ask me especially the almost black Goal-Keepers kit! Shame I will not be buying one until a certain pair of Americans are banished from the Bastion that is Anfield! Next years sales of last years stock then, on to the game and what a boring first half it was to, apart from Steven Gerrard's strike and it was outstandingly saved by Hart (worse luck).
The second half was all about missed opportunity's, the damn wood-work and Manchester City's goalkeeper playing as thou his life depended on it! But at least 'The Kid' scored (58th minute/ 32nd in all competitions) to give us all three points! Job done, last but not least Spurs up next Sunday at White Hart Lane (kick-off 15:00 BST). On a up note I thought Insua had a very productive game, DMW should let the kids come out and play a bit more in the future, I think he would be pleasantly surprised!!!!

On Ya Bikes And Your P45's Are In The Post Boys!

It looks like a lot people this summer will be finding different employment in pastures new! Sven-Goran Eriksson being the latest casualty! As for the exodus from L.F.C. I have about six names in my head that will not be wearing our red shirts, when the first blow of a Referee's whistle kicks off the season this August! More on this subject at a later date.

On a more happier note, the boys of 'Spirit of Shankly' are throwing an end of season bash down at the Liverpool Olympia on West Derby Road (7pm-1am) after the game on Sunday afternoon (Kick-off 16:00 BST), I think its sold out but some tickets might still be available on the night at the door, I so wish I could go! But alas I live many, many miles away, damn shame.

On to our seasons penultimate game tomorrow against Manchester City, its all down to pride and getting the maximum points from the last two games! Plus I hope DMW lets some of the reserves come out to play, they need the experience!!

Mayday Mayday / LSU-SoS

May the 1st is Labour/Union Day here where I live in the cold north of the world, so I thought it would be appropriate to mention the boys from SoS, no doubt on Sunday they will be out in force to bring the message back into focus, that we so want Messrs Hicks and Gillett "OUT" of Anfield and Liverpool Football Club forever and ever!! I can not iterate how much I personally loath this pair of so called human beings and not to forget the other couple of clowns in this sorry state of affairs, David Moores and CEO Rick Parry (Coco), how they sleep at night is beyond me entirely! This season is almost done and dusted, so its time to turn our attention to clearing out the inept and cretinous individuals in the board room and the dross from the squad, lets hope that DMW gets the funds to bring in some 'class in a glass' in this long summer of discontent! WE WILL OVER COME!!!!!!!!! Talking of socialism, here is a picture of a T-shirt I came across with a quote from the late great man himself Bill Shankly OBE, it is a classic and says it all for me!

Over And Out & A Bridge To Far!!!!!

Well I'm absolutely 'gutted' about last nights 3-2 result (4-3 agg.). I really thought we could do, but it was not to be unfortunately and Skrtel limps off (22nd min.) to be replaced by Hyypia, which for me was the pivotal turning point of the game! Depression is not good for the soul or the amount of beer I drank last night, to drown my sorrows. So I will not dwell on the subject another minute.

Next up, the blue half of Mancunia come to pay us visit at Anfield, for our last home game of the season on Sunday afternoon (16:00 BST). Hope springs eternal some say, so come on you Reds do us proud!!!!!
