Lambs To The Slaughter, Maybe!

So to the third round of the FA Cup and were playing Preston North End at Deepdale this coming Saturday (kick-off 17:25 GMT)! As I've stated before I really do like this competition and all it in tales, plus the one and only Bill Shankly OBE made over 300 appearance's for this club as a player, so this match has very special significance to both clubs!
I'm sure Rafa will play a strong side of sorts because he won't want the embarrassment, like last years defeat to Barnsley at Anfield again!
Neil Mellor now plays for them and he's there top goal scorer this season, should be a good game!

Class In A Glass!

Today is a good day and the score line could have been a lot bigger, unfortunately I only got to watch the highlights! But what I witnessed was pure class, I take my hat off to the whole team today and its not often I do that!
Riera scores again and Robbie gets a brace, Insua is turning out to be a little gem and let it continue, please! Still top of the League and our up coming visit to toontown on Sunday!
Have good one, ron and otherside!

All For One/One All Again!

Here we go again, one all at the final whistle and we should have so finished them off after they went down to ten men! Insua did brilliant, Robbie's goal was outstanding! On a side note our blue nosed neighbours held the other blue so & so's to a nil all draw tonight, in other words were still top for X-Mas and all that entails! Next up Bolton on Friday....................................!
Have a good one, ron and otherside!

Once More Unto The Breach, Dear Friends, Once More...

So once more we darken the doors of the Emirates Stadium with our presence this coming Sunday (kick-off 16:00 GMT), last seasons fixture ended up a one all draw and so did the CL game there as well!
Talking of the Champions League, its the draw on the morrow! Should be interesting to say the least, so fingers crossed etc etc on both counts.
Take care, ron and otherside

I'll See Thee, AKA Hull City!

Well there goes another two points wasted and our fourth home draw so far this season, but least this one had some goals in it for a change! Damn shame JC puts it in his own net, that was definitely down Dossena being absolutely pants and thank the Lord for Stevie G, saving the day with a brace of goals!

A "Pointless" Or Important Game!

So to the last game of the group and the final Champions League match of this year, I would have thought Rafa team selection for the visit to PSV (Philips Stadion) this Tuesday night would be a strong one, as we can top the group with a few goals scored! But its looking more like he going to play the underachievers and the reserves, we wait with bated breath (Not) to see!

Act Together And Other Things!

Well there was a result I was not expecting, especially after the our first half performance today! It keeps us up at the top of the table, for now.
PSV next Tuesday night, if we win by a few goals we can top the group and hopefully save us some grief come next February!

That Monday Morning Feeling!

Well, after that not so convincing win over Marseille in the CL last week, we return to the BPL for the visit of my good mates team 'The Hammers' on Monday night at Anfield (20:00 GMT kick-off). It goes without saying we need to beat them!

With Torres out for at least 3-4 weeks and Aurelio out for two with hamstring and calf injuries respectively, its only going to get tougher!

Its the first of December tomorrow and Christmas is almost upon us, the time of good will to all men etc etc etc, blah blah blah!!! I say stuff that and the under achievers / act and together types at L.F.C. need to work out where its going wrong and bloody soon!!!!

I know its not all doom and gloom, we're through to the last sixteen of the CL and joint first of the Premiership (damn goals difference) with you know who! But when Dirk Kuyt is the top scorer in all competitions for us, something is amiss big time. Please don't get me wrong, saying that isn't a criticism of the player himself, far from it!

BREAKING NEWS.............................As I write this post the Arse have beaten the Chevs two goal to one at the Bridge, yea ha!!!

The game tomorrow night has now become a very important one. We have to win it and finally get the top spot...bring it on!!!!!

Getting back to what I was saying, my criticism is aimed at the way Torres is being rushed back when its becoming very obvious that his hamstring injury is far more serious than first thought (fourth or fifth time in his Liverpool career) and a lot of the blame must ultimately lie with the Spanish National team training programme, but also Rafa's substitutions of late are beyond me!!!!

On a side note we are to play Preston North End in the F.A. Cup and our old friend and former player Neil Mellor on the weekend 3-4 of January next year!

Take it easy, ron and otherside!

The Bloody French Are Coming!

Well its Champions League time again and after the very, very disappointing nil all game against Fulham last Saturday, I sure do need cheering up! If we beat Marseille on Wednesday night we will be through to the next stage regardless what the rest in our group do!
Stevie G should be back as well and with Torres up front, please oh please let us beat them good and proper!
Take care, ron and other side!

Missed Opportunities

Well there goes a gift horse in the mouth day, what I really want to say is, bleep bleep bleep bleep bleep etc etc etc etc etc!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Damn, what a chance to pass up on, I need to calm down and NOW! Got to much to do this evening!
I would sign off with take it easy etc etc, but I'm P*ssed Off right now!

Hallelujah And Pray To The Lord

Fulham managed to beat Spurs last week and wiped the smile of old Harry's face, which in turn put one on mine! So to the match today and we need to beat them big time at Anfield this afternoon, plus hope and pray the Geordie's somehow pull off a miracle at the Bridge today!

FAUK YOU!

So this is the message the ENGLAND manager is sending to 'all' prem clubs right now?

Revenge for 1976

The first game I watched at Anfield was against Spurs in 1976 and we beat them 2-1, what a day that was! I'll never forget it, today is another day I will not forget in a hurry and another word that springs to mind is BOLLOCKS!

Rule Britannia!

Well what a shambles that game was! From Gerrad's disallowed goal to our inept performence, I wish I could take something positive from this match, but can not!
Take care and catch ya ron!

Probably The Best Beer (Team) In The World!

The French do not do alcohol advertisements, so our lads were not allowed to play in our usual shirts last night, it was a bit like the old days when football was about football and not just the money!
We won (1-2) which is very good, but we were reliant yet again on Mr. Steven Gerrard to pull the rabbit out of the hat, big time! His first goal was just sublime beyond belief and then scores again from the penalty spot (twice, due to encroachment on the first take) and that makes his tally of goals for L.F.C. 99, so lets hope his 100Th is something very, very special and soon!!!!
Marseille had us on the rack for most of the second half, but the defence and especially Jose Reina performance's made sure we won the day!
I just have to iterate yet again how much Riera's influence on our team is so going to bring big dividends this season, bring it on people!!!!!
Take care and see you on the other side.

Hallelujah, Praise The Lord!

After all this time (7 years I think in the premier league ) we finally beat M.U. at Anfield 2-1!!! It feels damn good to, the MOTM for me was Carlos Tevez! The reason being is he scored a great goal within the first three minutes and that had such effect on us (i.e. wake up call) that we turned back into a football team, finally!!

But special mention goes to Riera, Skrtel, Alonso and not forgetting Mascherano (Bargie Argie) for making this one of the most enjoyable games I have personally watched in a very long time!!!!!!!

Plus Babel for the second goal, in fact this game just might (I said might!) turn out to be the decider at the end of the season, if so it will make it even sweeter than it already is!

Damn good to see the boy's of SoS doing it large before the game! RESPECT!!!!

Take care, otherside!

The Gray Man/Men!

Where to start! Oh yeah the game this afternoon, nil all! Enough said! Sorry again, been busy as hell lately trying to get a new job!
Will post again soon, take it easy, on the other side.

Can We Have Our Football (Club) Back, Please Mister!

Well this one should be interesting, Aston Villa at home (Villa Park) t0day (Sunday K/O 16:00 BST) especially because of the the drawn out Barry transfer saga over the summer! I'm off out to watch the match this afternoon, so more later!
Plus my thoughts on the latest delay of building our new stadium and a host of other topics concerning L.F.C. in general!

You LUCKY Bunch Of Kuyts!

Well there you go, it was his 100Th game in a red shirt and he (Dirk Kuyt) puts it in the back of the net to save our sorry ass's and put us through to the CL group stages for another year!!!!
Take it easy, other side.

Ding Ding Round Two!

Well I was away over the weekend so was unable to watch the game live, but watched the re-run this morning and it was not a pretty sight by a long shot! But hey another three points in the bag as some would say, thanks to Stevie G, Carra and Lady Luck!
Next up Standard Liege in CL on Wednesday night, we so need to get our act together for that one!!!!!

In The Begining There Was Light (Stadium Of)

The day has finally arrived!! The beginning of the BPL and our trip away to play Roy Keane's black cats at the Stadium of Light, will comment more on this after the game!

Well the first half was nothing to write home about and that's for sure! But in the second half it started to change with Alonso coming on for Frenchman Plessis (back injury) and with him altering the way the ball got passed around in midfield, resulting in a great pass that was picked up by Torres who worked his magic yet again and struck it into the bottom of the left hand side of the net from 25 yards out (83min)!! Alonso almost scored himself not long after that with a long range effort after he spotted their keeper (Gordon) of his line, but it went slightly wide!

On a down note Robbie Keane got in the way Torres earlier on in the match and blocked a possible goal but hey, its early days yet for this strike partnership!

So one-nil it was then and three points in the bag. Oh boy we so needed this win especially after Wednesdays extremely poor showing against Standard de Liege. Up next, Middlesbrough (Sat. 23 Aug. 15:00 BST) at Anfield!
